EQUINE HYDROTHERAPY SPA
The equine hydrotherapy equine spa allows the horse to enjoy the theraputic benefits of cold water therapy. The spa is typically filled with water at a temperature of 2°C and 4°C. This works to minimise heat and inflammation in the lower legs making it ideal for treating soft issue injuries, as well as being suitable to use as a preventative measure, particularly if you have been competing on firm ground. Optional jacuzzi jets can be used to massage the horse’s leg/joints to help improve circulation and reduce swelling.

A spa’s water levels can be altered depending on the injury and its place on the leg, enabling you to focus on the necessary area. The top of the horse’s leg is the highest place that can be treated.

The benefits of a spa are massive compared to hosing each leg individually, because the water is constant.

Hydrotherapy is particularly beneficial for competition horses because there is no medication involved.

The cold salt water hydrotherapy spa is a drug free treatment designed to help common causes of lameness and reduce convalescence time. It can help the following injuries:
-Joint conditions
-Laminitis
-Brittle Hooves/Hoof Injuries
-Tendon and Ligament Injuries
-Soft Titssue Injuries
-Abscesses
-Windgalls
-Concussion

Regular use of the spa after hard exercise can help prevent injuries by removing the stressors and early inflammatory mediators within the tissues before inflammation develops. Hydrotherapy treatment can be used to prevent injury, increase mobility and reduce swelling in the legs before and after competition.
